Risingsun's Lugols 2.2% Iodine 3mg solution does not exceed the DEA Regulation of Iodine and Chemical Mixtures Containing Over 2.2 Percent Iodine (see 21 CFR Parts 1309 and 1310).
Risingsun Lugols 2.2% iodine 3mg solution contains 2.2% iodine and 4.8% iodide 4.8% for a combined 3mg of total iodine per drop. The iodine used in Risingsun's Lugols iodine solutions is processed from natural organic iodide which is extracted from ancient underground brine mines located in the United States and South America. Iodide brine mining is the extraction of useful materials (elements, compounds) which are naturally dissolved in brine.
To Make an Iodine Supplement Spray: Fill 2 oz.(60ml) container with distilled water; ADD 1 to 6 maximum drops of Risingsun Lugol's 2.2% iodine 3mg solution for desired ppm (parts per million). OPTIONAL: ADD 1 teaspoon lemon juice or a pinch of ascorbic acid (natural vitamin C surfactants), then affix closure and shake to mix, this will react with the iodine and make the solution clear. NOTE: If you want the benefit of the iodine (red or yellow color) do not add a surfactant that contains vitamin c.
Structure Function Statement:Supports Thyroid - Hormone - Metabolism - Immunity and Nerve Health. The function of the thyroid gland is to take iodine, found in many foods, and convert it into thyroid hormones: thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Thyroid cells are the only cells in the body which can absorb iodine. Low iodine levels slow your metabolism and encourage food to be stored as fat, rather than be burned as energy. Thyroid hormones play an important role in a wide range of bodily functions, including metabolism, bone health, immune response, and development of the central nervous system (CNS).
Manufactured by: Risingsun Iodine Products an FDA inspected and GMP certified iodine supplement manufacturing facility located in Livingston, Montana USA. (FDA FFR registration No. 18101635346) (EPA, NAICS and SIC registered and listed) (State Montana Registration No. Pending)
Available Sizes: 2oz (60ml) - Liter (1000ml)
Serving Size: 2oz (60ml) - 1182 servings (1182 vertical drops) each drop contains 3mg of iodine.
Ingredients:Distilled water, (over 4.4%) potassium iodide and (2.2%) elemental iodine.
Dosage:2 to 4 drops added to (4-6 oz) drink or as directed by your health care practitioner. add a couple drops of lemon or lime juice to improve taste or 1/4 teaspoon of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) powder.
Non-Allergenic Ingredients: Iodine isn't considered to be an allergen (something that triggers an allergic response) since it occurs naturally in the body and is actually necessary for thyroid function. People do however have a sensitivity to the amount of elemental iodine that is used in some iodine solutions, such as the Lugols solutions. Risingsun has addressed this issue of iodine sensitivity by produing the Lugols iodine solutions in 1% elemental strength, 2.2% elemental iodine strength and 5% elemental iodine strength.
Heavy Metals tested for:Arsenic(As), Barium (Ba), Beryllium (Be), Cadmium (Cd), Chromium (Cr), Lead (Pb), Mercury (Hg), Nickel (Ni), Selenium (Se), Silver (Ag). Risingsun is the only supplement company that tests for the RCRA 8 metals. The Resource Recovery and Conservation Act (RCRA) lists and monitors a group of eight heavy metals which are commonly referred to as the RCRA 8. The reason being, each of these eight metals is extremely toxic at even small concentrations. Risingsun's iodine supplements test the lowest for heavy metal content than any iodine supplement available.
To Make an Iodine Supplement Spray:Fill 4 oz.(120ml) container with distilled water; ADD 1 to 6 maximum drops of Risingsun Lugol's 2.2% iodine 3mg solution for desired ppm (parts per million). OPTIONAL: ADD 1 teaspoon lemon juice (a natural surfactant), then affix closure and shake to mix. Additional lemon juice can be added. To make a sanitizer mix 2 oz distilled water with 2 oz 100 proof vodka for at total of 4 oz. then add Lugols solution.Or:use no distilled water and only use 4oz. vodka and then add the lugols solution.

COA (Certificate of Analysis):COA's are available on request. COA's are required to be performed on every supplement by the FDA to ensure it meets CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) regulations. CGMP refers to the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations enforced by the FDA. CGMPs provide for systems that assure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes and facilities. Adherence to the CGMPs regulations assures the identity, strength, quality, and purity of dietary supplement products by requiring that manufacturers of medications adequately control manufacturing operations.
Unique Product Packaging: Risingsun takes pride in the iodine supplements it produces, and the packaging clearly shows that. Instead of inserting the dropper in the bottled iodine solution a black phenolic cap(lid) with a cone liner is affixed to the bottle to eliminate the iodine solution from evaporating; then a shrink band is applied to the cap(lid). The dropper and sealed bottle of iodine solution are inserted into a bubble bag then placed in a product box; shrink bands are then applied over the box. --- When droppers are placed in iodine solutions (red solutions), the iodine vapor stains anything that is stored next to the iodine solution and the vapor also hardens the dropper bulb so iodine can not be drawn into the dropper. Those that use lugols iodine or similar supplements have experienced these issues.
Not all Iodine Supplements are alike:The sources of iodine utilized in iodine supplements are not the same. Sources for iodine used iodine supplements can be from Shellfish, Kelp and brine. People have allergies to shellfish, so this source poses a health hazard. Iodine isn't considered to be an allergen (something that triggers an allergic response) iodine is essential for thyroid and hormonal functions in the body. Shellfish allergy is sometimes confused with iodine allergy because shellfish is known to contain the element iodine. But iodine is not what triggers the reaction in people who are allergic to shellfish. Although sea kelp is safe to eat in plant form, taking sea kelp supplements can be dangerous. Kelp contains concentrated doses of heavy metals that occur naturally in kelp, but can be toxic to humans in supplement form. Kelp purifies the oceans and extracts and absorbs heavy metals from the ocean. The best source for iodine is from brine mining, iodine produced naturally in the form of iodide which is then combined with potassium. Risingsun only uses brine mined potassium iodide. Brine mining is the extraction of useful materials (elements or compounds) which are naturally dissolved in brine. Brines are a major source of iodine supply worldwide. Major deposits occur in Japan and the United States. Iodide is recovered from deep brines pumped to the surface as a byproduct of oil and natural gas production. Brine mining is the extraction of useful materials (elements or compounds) which are naturally dissolved in brine. It differs from solution mining or in-situ leaching in that those methods inject water or chemicals to dissolve materials which are in a solid state; in brine mining, the materials are already dissolved. Around 500 BC, the ancient Chinese dug hundreds of brine wells, so brine mining has been used used for about 2567 years, give or take a few years.
